Nicky Smith, President and CEO of CarolinanetNicky Smith serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Carolinanet. With more than 30 years as a senior level executive for privately owned companies, Nicky has extensive experience with business and partnership development. Nicky is a highly effective manager of people and of growth in fast-paced industries. He is a team builder with strong leadership and communications skills, and is experienced in all aspects of technology, including data/voice communications, computer applications, and engineering. One of his strong characteristics is that he has extensive expertise in all aspects of startup companies and a proven track record in sales of technology, and information services and solutions. Most importantly, he has demonstrated a history of significant company growth and bottom-line profitability.

Steven Hinkle Steven Hinkle serves as Director of Operations for Carolinanet and Dataglide. Steven Hinkle has served as Director of Operations for Carolinanet and Dataglide since January 2005. Steven comes to Carolinanet from a background rich in unparalleled quality customer service. His career started in high school as a junior system administrator for a Unix-like operating system. From there he studied Computer Science at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he completed his BS degree. After college he went to work at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, where he spent several years as a Systems and Network Administrator for several departments. During this time, he had the chance to grow his skills in customer relations. Later, Steven affiliated with Berkeley Software Design, Inc., which led him to a global customer service role and he was promoted to Director of Technical Support. He transitioned to Wind River Systems in the Spring of 2001 when Wind River bought most of the assets of BSDi.

Steven has primary responsibility for the Carolinanet Data Center and with his leadership, has become the primary technical and customer support team member for Dataglide.

Chris Norris Chris Norris serves as Senior Programmer for Carolinanet and Dataglide. Chris attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for computer science. For the past 8 years, Chris has been a developer with Carolinanet. He primarily works with LAMP installations, but also has experience with PostgreSQL and MSSQL. In the last 3 years he has developed and maintained Carolina Digital Phone VoIP servers and has obtained the Digium-Certified Asterisk Professional (dCAP) certification.

Chris joined the Carolinanet team more than eight years ago and now has primary responsibility for the VoIP applications servers, in addition to custom programming for client's applications. Chris serves as backup technical and customer support team member for Dataglide.

Beth Smith Beth Smith serves as Chief Financial Officer for Dataglide and the parent companies. Beth has a BS in Accounting from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and earned her C.P.A. before joining the big-five accounting firm Ernst & Young in 1988 doing audit work for a number of major clients in the Carolinas. She then enjoyed a career as a Senior Internal Auditor and Senior Accountant for Cone Mills Corporation in Greensboro, NC.

Today she is responsible for the daily accounting and financial planing of Carolinanet, Carolina Digital Phone and Dataglide. She prepares statements for management and reports quarterly activities to the company's independent accounting firm Alexander & Chandler, PA. She also is responsible for the company's qualified retirement plan and serves as a joint trustee of this plan managed by Fidelity.
